Father Darek Receives Crystal Cross

Above is a photo of a Council 11091 delegation giving Fr. Darek his cross in appreciation of his service as Chaplain for the Council.  The four of us drove over to St. Stanislaus in Rockford on the 11th, with Rick giving a short, very moving tribute to Fr. Darek (not a dry eye in the house!).  Fr. Darek was very happy to see some of his Council "flock", and after Mass gave us the tour of his new parish, and we look to see him from time to time.

Sweater Donations Help IL Residents

Residents of Arden Courts in Palos Heights received sweaters from The Algonquin Knights of Columbus. Big thanks for Patrick O'Came for donating the sweaters, and Bob Pustay (pictured) for organizing the trip to Arden Courts.

This is just one example of the seven palettes of sweaters going to worthy causes.

Cub Scouts Pinewood Derby Build

Cub Scout fathers in the Knights of Columbus set up an awesome Pinewood Derby workshop in the McGivney Building for the Cub Scouts of St. Margaret Mary. Plenty of space to design, cut, rout, sand, and prep the cars for victory.

A Tribute to the Glorious and Victorious Packers

Possibly the worst fight song in all of sports. However, nothing sounds sweeter to a Packers fan than having Bears fans sing it in tribute to a Packers season sweep over the rival Bears. Better luck next year guys.

Here's a link to the YouTube video for sharing. Spread the love.

Bears Fans in Agony

Council 11091 has a standing bet among its many Packers and Bears fans. If one team sweeps the other in the regular season series, the fans of the losing side must don the attire of the victors and serenade the fans of the victorious side. 2011 was a good year for the Packers.
